Geraniums: work in progress

Geraniums
10"x10"
Good morning! I'm feeling a little better today, I seem to have come out of the "pneumonia fog" a little bit. Lots of works in progress going on right now. I will finish this one up and write more later. Enjoy your day!

"LUMINARIAS, FAROLITAS"

Guess what? I went to the doctor today and I have pneumonia! I'm not even sure I spelled it right. I got an antibiotic, so I'm hoping I feel better in a few days.
I am busy working on larger paintings now. I have about 40 paintings ready for the show.
The weather is supposed to be getting a little colder, so I am posting a photo of the luminarias from our driveway on Christmas Eve. Reminds me that Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are not far away.
I love this time of year.

Sunset work in progress

Sunset
6"x12"
I'm working on my small paintings right now. And I'm STILL sick. Bummer.
I will also be working today on three 12"x16"s today. One will be the Sandia Mountains and the other two - I'm just going to decide right when I get ready to paint. One may be a group of dancers. I'm going to live dangerously....I am painting and when I get a group of five completed, I will varnish them all, and post a couple of them. I'm getting excited about the show. My postcard is on its way and I will be mailing them next weekend. So if anyone is not on my mailing list and would like to receive a card, drop me a line with your name and address. Have a great day!

Hollyhocks work in progress

Hollyhocks
12"x6"
Good morning! I'm trying to get back into working, I'm feeling a little better. This painting is a pretty little hollyhock I spotted at my favorite antique store and luckily I had my camera with me. I love the color contrast. It will be finished today and I will post it again after varnishing.
I went and bought some new small canvases yesterday. Lots of 5x5, 5x7, 8x10, 10x10, 9x12, a few 11x14, and a couple of 12x16. These are all to round out my upcoming show. I still have about 12 larger size canvas, including a 48x60, that I would like to complete before November 8.
Enjoy your day and I will have a new posting tonight!

Good morning!

Just a quick update - I have 29 paintings ready for my show and lots more to do in three weeks. I will start posting some of them for your viewing tonight.
I've been sick for two weeks, and haven't worked much, but am feeling better today, so I'm starting a big 24"x48" sunset. I haven't had time for daily paintings, and I miss them so much, but please be patient, they will start popping up soon! Thanks and have a wonderful day...

From my backyard

A nice view to wake up to!In my neighbor's yard

This morning was the Special Shapes Rodeo Mass Ascension. I saw a stork, a plane, a witch, an octopus, a light bulb, a Pespi can, a baby doll, and lots more. These two got the closest to my house.

I've been a little under the weather with a bad cold/cough that everyone in the family has had. I started it last Friday, tomorrow makes a week, The only thing I've felt like doing is a little outlining work. Hopefully it will go away soon - I have a show in about three weeks! Anyway, please stay tuned, I haven't given up on daily paintings at all, just haven't felt like it.

A PHOTO FROM TAOS THAT WILL BE A PAINTING IN MY NEW SHOW
Good morning everyone -

I just wanted to let you know the reason you haven't seen any new paintings posted. I've been SICK. Me, who is never sick, caught the "awful gross coughing head cold makes your chest hurt headache" thing last Friday. My whole family has had it, but I thought, no, not me. I have been eating soup and crackers and gone through a whole bag of cough drops in three days.

I did underpaint my aspens on Sunday and I want to try to work on them some more today and post a photo, but we'll see. Bear with me....

OFF TO BALLOON FIESTA!

Tomorrow morning, I am getting up at 4:45am (yes, am!), to go watch the mass ascension st the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the most photographed event in the world. I have two cousins in town and four of us are getting up early and making a day of it. I'll be taking tons of pictures and hopefully some video to give you a sense of what it feels like to have 700+ balloons all around you. It's an incredible feeling....

"NIGHT TREES, TAOS" work in progress

Hi guys,
I'm just checking in to let you know that I'm still working! This is a 12"x12" work in progress of a scene that I took in Taos a while back. Of course, it wasn't at night, but the trees reminded me of something mysterious and nocturnal, so it became an "evening" scene. I have chamisa in the foreground, those lovely "whatever they are" reddish-orange bushes and harvest fields in the middle ground, with little touches of pink and white throughout. Not my usual color scheme, but I think it works. I will post the final result when it's complete, which had better be today!
