Aspens and Sunflowers

THINGS I'M WORKING ON

I just finished this painting as a donation for the
Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation's event "Laughter is the Best Medicine."
This is a yearly event that I have participated in for at least ten years.
The painting is large, 30x30" and is titled "SUNFLOWERS IN BLOOM."
It will be auctioned off in a silent auction.
Let's hope it makes them lots of money.

This is a painting that is almost finished
and I am showing my beginning process.

It's a 16x12" commission to replicate a painting of mine titled "HIDDEN ASPENS."
I started sketching it in my usual loose paint, but I lost my field of
perspective and didn't want to do a grid line.
Too many tree trunks were making me dizzy!
So I decided to use white acrylic paint as my guideline.

I got it under control, finally.
It is very hard to duplicate the heaviness and somberness of these aspens.

I will show you the finished painting in a few days.
