"GLASS POPPIES"

"GLASS POPPIES"
10x10"
mixed media
gallery wrap canvas painted around the sides
$225

My first lined piece of work in quite a while.
I have missed it!

I am trying to paint one per week
because any more than that, and I get a headache.
The lines are tedious, but they do bring something to my soul

melancholy

I'm Back!

I have spent two weeks transferring my domain name
from one server to another, and trust me, I have missed blogging.
It took so long!

I don't know what it is about this time of year,
but I have the melancholy blues.
It's cold and dreary outside,
My mom and one of my best friends passed
away during the month of January.
My young niece passed away last month.
I know I'll get over it - it just takes time.
Oh, and I am already missing the Obama family.

So that's why I'm posting hollyhocks.
These beautiful flowers make me feel happy.
They never fail to perk up my energy.

I haven't painted for about four days
and these images make me want to get out my brushes!

I have painted this hollyhock scene at least five or six times.
It never gets old, that grey adobe background.

An old cabinet at the antique store.
I have painted this scene too.

These colors remind me of the 4th of July!

 The beauty of Taos hollyhocks!

 Old Town hollyhocks

 North Valley hollyhocks

This is a scene I am going to paint next week.

Oh man, I think I just rid myself of most of my blues.
Now I will browse a few artists' websites
and take a peek at my newest art magazines.

And maybe tomorrow....a painting.

"PEACEFUL ROAD" new painting

"PEACEFUL ROAD"
8x10"
oil on panel

This is my first painting for our group, "LET'S PAINT NEW MEXICO!"
It's a scene traveling down the Monastery Road near Ghost Ranch.
So peaceful, and if I have a free day, it's my favorite trip.
