  1. #1. Significant relevance to NM. My NM family would immediately appreciate the Chili ristra, the hollyhocks and blue paint. The Adobe is also a beautiful reminder of our great state. Beautiful tribute and well done!

  2. #27. When I first drive through NM from Oklahoma to Arizona 20 years ago, I fell in love with the skies and knew I’d live here someday.
I moved here 10 years ago. No matter what goes wrong or seems so awful, I’m always in love with the New Mexico sky.
I bought a home in the East Mountains and this is what the sunsets look like as I look to the west across the plain over the Sandias.

  3. I really like #23. The shape and color of the vase and those gorgeous full blown flowers (poppies?). I especially like the little pop of blue in the centers of the flowers

  4. Hi Dee. I love the paintings of the Mexican ladies like #9. I have followed your art for many years and love your style. Your loose painting technique is very appealing. All of your paintings done in quick strokes are unique. You have captured the native beauty of your area. I was born and raised in Texas and moved to Indiana after my marriage. After having a family it was very difficult to leave Indiana. I have always loved Texas and the West. Keep up the good work. Your art friend. Pat Voelz. I also have art on Daily Paintworks.

  5. Hi Dee, I love all of the paintings in the "Swept Away" series but #1 is my favorite--it resonates with me and reminds me of my childhood. Growing up, I lived next door to my grandparents. The front of their house was surrounded by a stuccoed wall against which hollyhocks bloomed during the summer months. My grandparents were a constant in my life. Their door was always open to me, my siblings and my cousins. We knew that they were always there for us be it with a bowl of chile, a conversation, or a hug. The underlying current to the food and conversations was always unfailing love. Painting #1 is a time machine for me, it takes me back to my childhood and adolescence. The hollyhocks and color palette in the painting evoke a warmth like the one my grandparents radiated and during this time of isolation from loved ones, brings joy and the knowledge that familial love is constant even in trying circumstances.

#1 hollyhocks against a wall - a window into summer for whoever has this hanging on their wall. I love it for its ability to evoke the sounds and scents of a warm summer day.

  10. Hello Dee, How generous of you to give away your beautiful artwork. It is a very tough decision to choose only one favorite! I have been a fan of your artwork for many years and admire many of your paintings in my girlfriends home. If I have to choose I think I would choose #46. I love the architecture of the historic NM churches with the mesa in the background. I also love the colors in the painting. This would remind me of the beautiful state we live in. Thank you for your kindness.

  12. Love all your paintings Dee. #17 is one of my favorites because of the sunflowers and lavender. This is a state like no other and your paintings definitely reveal that.

  13. Hello Dee I love #1 painting!
It immediately reminded me of a beautiful typical New Mexico casita. The hollyhocks in bloom remind me of the adobe shop next to Church St. cafe in Albuquerque Old Town. Their hollyhocks are always gorgeous. So many of the paintings remind me of places I’ve been with you! Beautiful, wonderful paintings!!
I will not compete in contest and give someone else a chance to win one of the beauties!

  14. Hi Dee - I love all of them - each for a different reason. But since I'm consistently homesick I'd have to say #1 is my favorite. It is the spirit of everything I love and miss about home.

  15. Dee!! I might be late for the giveaway but it’s so great seeing your paintings either way! 1, 5, 10, 23, 26, 46... ha! You know I couldn’t pick! Your paintings feel like home, even though my physical home is across the country. They bring me peace. Thanks for sharing your gift with the world! I hope you’re well! -Beth

Hello, I'm new to your work and I love it. All of these paintings are beautiful, but if I had to pick one I'd choose No. 3. First, I have a thing for landscapes that include buildings or houses, and adobe houses are the best. Second, cottonwoods in fall shout "New Mexico!" to me. And third, the quality of light as it hits the tree is like golden butter. It glows. I want to hold it in my hands.
