This is the beginning stage of my painting - a very watery, loose wash of three colors; burnt sienna, a brilliant red, and cadmium orange.
This is the next stage - a very rough block in of my sketch. The foreground is a mass of wildflowers including poppies, asters, and coneflowers. Middle ground will be fields, mesa, and the mountains. I won't be blocking in the underpainting until Saturday. I'm headed to Taos tomorrow. I forgot about two 8x10's I am contributing to a fundraiser there called "Hearts and Stars." It's a fundraiser for the homeless in Taos. I will finish them in the morning, frame them, take them up and then a quick trip and back home.
I still can't seem to get a daily painting done to put up for auction!
