These are my first two works in progress for the upcoming show at Weems Uptown that opens on Sunday, September 4th. I'm loving them. They will all be the same size - 30"x40" and will all be framed (assuming my frames arrive in time for the show!). I have three WILDS (thats what I call any chaotic masses of flowers), the sunflower you see above, an arroyo landscape, a vertical aspen, a vertical Pedernal, the river at Arroyo Hondo, a vertical hollyhocks at Arroyo Seco, and I'm debating over two sunsets - one of Elena Gallegos, one of Algodones. I just have to choose. I think they will all look pretty striking when they're hanging together. More tomorrow and I have two daily paintings in the works.Monday, August 15, 2011
