the last two....

GETTING READY FOR A SHOW

Yay, my show is almost here and I'm starting to get excited.
This is a 30x48" sunflowers wild garden painting.
I saved it for near the end because I love playing with all of
those colors and shapes.
It's like a big puzzle.
Please click on the image for a larger view.

This is my last painting.
I thought I was done and someone asked,
"Did you paint Canyon Women?"
And I didn't.
I forgot!

I try to paint at least one Canyon Women painting for each show.
These women have worked hard in the chile fields
all day and are headed home to their sweet little casita in the mountains.

Okay, gotta get back to it.
Postcards are in, have to print my mailing list labels and get those out.
We have hooking, wiring, titling, and inventorying to do.

And I am working on a two big painting commission
for a hospital expansion that is due October 31st.
No time to stop and think about it.
Like Nike says, "Just Do It."

A huge PARTY  Friday, September 26, 2014, on opening night with food, music, and fun

___________________________

For all of my clients and collectors who have been
asking for new acrylic and ink paintings - it's time!

I was trying to think of something new and interesting
to do for 2014, and something that would REALLY be a challenge for me.

I really love painting in oils, they are my passion.
BUT - I miss my lines sometimes.
Lines are tedious and time consuming for me - thus the challenge.

What better way to really create a new challenge for myself
than go back to the beginning?

Artists always like to keep moving forward, trying new things and not becoming stale in their creativity.
I have been painting in oils for so long that I often wonder
if my old school style paintings would be any different from the past.
I guess we will find out!

Here's a sampling of Old School Retro:

I hope you will all be as excited as I am to begin this journey.

The Way It Works:

 - I paint the paintings
 - you watch online
 - If you see a painting you like, you call or email with your info
- If no one else wants that painting on opening night, it's yours
 - If two or more want the same painting, we do a drawing
 - We pick your name, the painting is yours

So, it doesn't matter where you are, you can still buy a painting!

new 150 Challenge paintings

Good morning -

I have five new 150 Challenge paintings for you to see!
I'm starting to get excited about the show.
It is always so fulfilling to see all 150 paintings framed and
hanging on the beautiful wall down at Weems Old Town.

I haven't run out of subjects yet - in fact, I hate having to narrow it down to those last few.
Trying to pick and choose the last few things to paint is so hard.
I want to paint a dancer painting, a buffalo, sheep, some birds, a few florals I haven't gotten to yet.
Some figures, another Black Mesa, a few landscapes, maybe a surprise thrown in.
Maybe an abstract.

And I have to decide which two larger pieces to auction off at the show.

Today is a work day but also an "addressing and mailing postcards" day too.

I want to be totally finished with all of my paintings by the 23rd of May, so I better
stop talking and start working.

Have a fantastic day, and to see all of the 150 Challenge paintings so far, click HERE.
