I don't normally paint many still lifes, mainly because I don't want to take the time to set up elaborate displays and worry about flowers dying, etc. I just made this one up and it's painted on linen, which gives it a very rich feel. Linen has wonderful texture. The background is light and airy, which is also something I don't normally paint. I guess I'm not feeling "normal" today.
