Over the weekend, I went to the Turner to Cezanne exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum. Of course, I went on the last day, so there were about 50 people in line ahead of me to get in. It was worth it though. Very nice! I saw a Van Gogh, two Monets, a Pissaro, about four Turners and several Cezannes. Also a lot of other artists whose names I didn't know. This collection was owned by two sisters and was just beautiful. I am always so amazed by the luminosity of the works created long ago when painters didn't have access to the materials that are at the fingertips of today's artists. I loved it. I went home and looked at a few of the paintings I had in books and it was nice to see them in print form too.
I am thinking about going to a drawing class tonight - again, to get out of my comfort zone. I've never actually been to a drawing class. especially with a live model, so it will be interesting. Of course, I really should be painting, I have SO much to do. But life calls in other ways too and sometimes, you just gotta heed the call.
