only 15 days left until my new Challenge begins....May 9, 2013

THE CHALLENGE IS BACK!

Guess what? I am doing another Challenge!
This one is new and different.....

REASONS
I have really really REALLY missed my plein air painting -
going on day trips, photographing, screeching my car to a halt, jumping out,
and painting what's right in front of me.

I also promised my family I wouldn't do any physical shows in 2013.
Doing three large shows back to back last year was killer.

But I always want to do something that connects
me with my love for the New Mexico landscape and
brings me closer to my clients (and friends).
It also has to challenge me at the same time.

And one of my goals this year was to help animals. So...

I am doing a 145 day Challenge -
145 paintings in 145 days and all will be $145 each
You won't have to wait until the end of the Challenge to get your painting this time!

This Challenge will include all of my "themes" and some new subjects.

And at the end of the Challenge,
I am having a wonderful dinner at my north valley home,
complete with New Mexican food, great music, and even a painting demonstration!
There will also be a large painting giveaway at the end of our meal.

The dinner is $49 per person and a portion of the proceeds
will go to New Mexico Dogs Deserve Better, a very worthwhile group that rescues
and cares for animals that are chained, or abused.

So come on out and join us under the cottonwoods, enjoy some great food,
and help out a great animal charity at the same time!

Here is your personal invite -
I have also sent out over 850 postcards.

I hope you will watch the process of the creation of 145 paintings.
May you find one (or more) that speak to you.
I also hope you will join me for dinner!

newest daily painting

"OLD LOOP ROAD"
PLACITAS
6X6"
$75
free shipping

You know, I've painted really BIG and really small, and I love both sizes.
BIG gets you out of your comfort zone and small brings you back down to earth.

I'm getting ready to paint some large flower pieces for an upcoming Weems show,
so right now I'm just enjoying these little vignettes of scenes from New Mexico.

This image was taken from a plein air paint out in Placitas a couple of years ago.
You know how, sometimes you go outside and there are no clouds anywhere
and the sky seems a little boring?
This was not one of those days.
It was fall and the puffy clouds were just hanging over the mountains.
It was a beautiful day.
Purchase information is below.

New 150 paintings

I have four new 150 paintings done now and working fast and furious.
I also am working on a 150 flyer, my 150 postcard, and 150 press releases.
Needless to say, the number 150 is going to be in my dreams for the next month!

8x10"

These are just a few of the paintings I have in the Weems Gallery group show opening tomorrow at Lousiana and Montgomery NE. The show is titled "Flowers and Still Life" and from what I saw when I went to take my paintings in, the show is going to be fantastic. Lots of great floral art - and some wonderful still lifes too.
The show opens at 10am. For more information, please call 505-293-6133.

working...

I had to post these - I've been working pretty hard today - I only have 14 days until I have to have everything ready for Artfest. Wow, I can't believe it's here already.

It's different this year, framing everything. More work and thought have to go into it, but I think the booth will look beautiful this year. At least I hope so. More tomorrow!
