"PLACITAS QUIET"

"PLACITAS QUIET"
10"X8"
A while back I went to Placitas, NM on a paint out. I hadn't been there in years and it was my first time painting on location outdoors so I was excited. It was in October and it wasn't cold but the sky was filled with these lovely puffy, billowy clouds. We went on this long loop road that goes right up to the mountains. You could park and paint and never see a soul. I thought it was the most magical thing - to be out there in the wilderness, totally by yourself, just experiencing nature in all it's mystery. This painting is from a photo I took that day. Purchase information is below. I also wanted to tell you that I have two 150 Challenge paintings I will post later today and a large sunflower painting in the works for my gallery.
Oh, I wanted to tell everyone: one of my lavender paintings was chosen to be the official poster and t-shirt of the Los Poblanos LAVENDER IN THE VILLAGE coming up later this year. That makes me happy! Los Poblanos is such a beautiful place - so this is for you, Tom and Marilyn, for making me paint that lavender!!
