Good morning everyone!
WEEMS ARTFEST update:
I am on painting #39 now, slowly working my way through the paintings I want to get done now before I start my "in the zone under pressure" painting! These are the sizes I will be taking to the show:
5x5, 5x7, 8x8, 8x10, 9x12, 11x14, 6x12, 14x18, 16x20, 18x24, 24x30, 24x48, 30x30, 36x36, 30x40, 40x40, and two huge 48x60s. October will be medium to large works. I am also painting a 30x40 inch sunflowers with red as a donation piece to the Weems Artfest Auction. I believe there are 12 artists participating in the auction.
I have the same booth spot as always. It's amazing how attached we get to out particular spot! You see the same artists next to you every year, and for that weekend, they are like your family. This year I have added a beautiful antique podium on rollers to my booth to keep track of all my paperwork and supplies. I have also added an old turquoise trunk on rollers on which I will display smaller paintings.
I may have a painting giveaway at the show, something small, perhaps an 8x10. Hopefully that will entice you to come out and see me, see the work, and just have a great time. Stay tuned for info on that!
I am also in the process of creating magnets of paintings from my last shows, especially the 150 Challenge paintings. Those are fun but time consuming to create. They will still be $3 each.
After Artfest, I have some new plans coming up. They involve live model drawing and painting, very large "drip" paintings, more plein air work, and a new blog. Also, I will be the poster/ print artist for WEEMS ARTFEST 2010. At that show, I will unveil a "new" me. Stay tuned!
Well, I guess I better get to it. For all of you who follow my work, collect my work, and offer nice comments and great feedback - you are what keep me inspired and motivated and keep me heading into the studio every day. I thank you!
