Good morning and happy Saturday! The first hot air balloon flew over my house this morning so that means the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is almost here. I'm excited. There's a crispness in the air that makes me want to roast some green chile and go to the grower's markets. Instead, today I am headed to swim, then into the studio for the rest of the day.
I am still working on commissions as I work on Artfest paintings. "THE FIELDS" is a painting of some old barns with a nice patch of cosmos in the corner. I'm not sure yet what I want the eye to focus on, the cosmos, the fields, or the barns! Maybe all of them. The other painting, "AUTUMN BOUQUET" is one of those jumbled flower patches that I love so much. I've already started the lining process on both and hope to finish them today.
Last night I went to the artist's and private reception for the Albuquerque Open Space exhibit. The little paintings were all beautiful, if I had a few hundred dollars, two of them would be in my possession now. I got an email last night that my painting "ALAMEDA SUNSET" had sold, so that's exciting, it's cool because it has no lines. Less work! Have a great weekend and I will post these finished paintings tonight.
I love old barns...so I think though both pictures (as all your paintings) are lovely, I think I favor the one with the barns...You are definitely one of my favorite painters.
