"ASPENS IN THE PECOS"
12"X9"
I was inspired by my Pecos trip yesterday to create these two aspen trees surrounded by tall pines - I think they were Ponderosas but am not quite sure. We were driving on a little tiny road with no center line and it was very curvy and near the edge, but very beautiful. I hadn't been to Pecos since I was a little girl, so it was all new to me. We also drove by the river where my friend used to camp with his family when he was a little boy. I hope to finish this tomorrow.

"TIN ROOF HOLLYHOCKS"
10"X10"
This painting is from a photo taken yesterday at a little general store outside of Pecos. The hollyhocks were planted in a planter about three feet off the ground next to a really old antique gas pump. Hollyhocks have already bloomed in my neck of the woods, so this was a nice surprise. At the angle I took the photo, it looks like they are towering over the tin roof of the store. There were also eight hummingbird feeders hanging from the porch at the store, and a sign which read "Hummingbird Crossing." Very cool.

  2. Dee - I love them both. Your hollyhocks are wonderful and I appreciate the play of sunlight in the trees.
